This is a great stem that's perfect for me. I do triathlons and prefer stems that are parallel to the ground to get me in a better (lower) aero position. Also, my torso is proportionally longer (slightly) than my legs, so I need a slightly longer stem. Further, I have 1" basebars, which might be slightly more aero, so this stem clamp is perfect. Not sure why oversized stems/basebars are the norm, but I do benefit pricewise because I guess the 1" handlebar clamps are no longer in fashion, so these stems were insanely cheap! The only nit pick is that these stems are not the lightest, but that's really more of a weight weenie fetish since in reality a few grams is not going to make a difference in any of my races.

Nice stem, great price, but too long. Ordered the same stem, next size down. Will return this one. Rated 4 stars for the price.

I purchased this stem because it is not very easy these days to find a good stem with 26mm bar clamp and with the geometry you want. After riding 4-axis WCS stem (Ritchey's top of the line stem) for a while, I understood I needed a longer stem with 17 deg drop, which was not available within WCS product line. Thus I was compelled to downgrade to Pro. Boy, the only downside of this Ritchey Pro stem compared to WCS is that is comes with steel bolts. No difference in feel, it is solid and stiff, and it looks nice on the bike. But you pay 5 times less than for 4-axis WCS stem.
For those who care, here are the weights. My Pro stem (130 mm length, 17 deg drop) hits the scale at 160 g. It has 6 steel bolts, all M6, two 20mm and four 18 mm, weighing approx. 6 grams each. Ti bolts of this size would weigh in about 3.5 grams each. You can just purchase Ti bolts elsewhere and replace your steel bolts, saving 2.5 grams per bolt or approx. 15 grams total. It's huge weight saving! After such upgrade, 130mm Pro stem would weigh just 145 grams - approx. the same as 130mm WCS stem (my former WCS stem with already Ti bolts was 110 mm and 126 grams). Such upgrade would cost you 20 bucks - it is still very cheap. And more important, while getting a very stiff and light product you have many choices in terms of length and drop to customize your bike. The only thing I wonder about, is why Ritchey is making this stem with steel bolts instead of titanium. For this reason, I rate it four stars.
